Our Week 24 Top Logistics Stories

It’s week 24 and here are three stories you should be updating your customers and prospects on this week. They need your expertise!

Shippers may not be aware of what’s occurring or its importance, so offering your assistance and insights will help you build a stronger relationship with them.

Knowing what’s going on in the market is only half the battle. Your customers need to be told what to do about it and they should hear that from you.

1.      First up, data shows that air cargo rates have remained firm so far in 2025. Like with ocean rates of late, tariff uncertainty has kept rates up. However, the surge of demand created by the 90-day tariff pause is likely to slow, and capacity looks to become more plentiful later this summer if the pattern continues.

2.      Speaking of tariffs, the US and China have been meeting to discuss a new trade agreement. There are few details on any possible new trade deal, but it would be a great relief to global supply chains if an agreement were to be reached with this obviously being a key trade relationship.

3.      Finally, small parcel shipping costs keep rising as the industry begins to think about peak shipping season starting soon. UPS, FedEx, and the USPS have all announced cost increases in various forms, including for base rates as well as new fees and surcharges. Shippers need to be sure to budget for these higher costs.

Of course, these stories are just a small part of what’s going on in the supply chain space right now. Updating your clients on how this and other information is relevant to their business is a way to provide more value and strengthen your relationships.
