Our Week 29 Top Logistics Stories
It’s week 29 and here are three stories you should be updating your customers and prospects on this week. They need your expertise!
Shippers may not be aware of what’s occurring or its importance, so offering your assistance and insights will help you build a stronger relationship with them.
Knowing what’s going on in the market is only half the battle. Your customers need to be told what to do about it and they should hear that from you.
1. How important is sustainability in the supply chain? A new survey affirms 65% of executives see sustainability as a competitive advantage with 62% saying it helps attract and retain customers. Helping customers create more sustainability in their supply chain in measurable ways is still a great way to add value.
2. The executive director of the Port of LA, Gene Seroka, is predicting a down peak season in 2025, with tariffs being the Grinch. The temporary spoke in volumes at the port, and ocean rates from the tariff pause has worked it’s way through the system. The next key date for tariffs is August 1 when may pauses will expire.
3. One of last year's top supply chain stories was the congestion at the Panama Canal because of its key location. There is good news because water levels are back to normal, which should alleviate the delays moving forward. Better movement through the canal may help balance the continued problems in the Red Sea (even though it’s halfway around the world). Modern supply chains are truly global.
Of course, these stories are just a small part of what’s going on in the supply chain space right now. Updating your clients on how this and other information is relevant to their business is a way to provide more value and strengthen your relationships.
